Dear me
I saw you there comtemplating that large plastic garbage can, and those plastic containers at the dollar store. We have had this discussion before, you and I. Think again about all of the plastic going into the landfills all over the world. Plastic that will be there for a long time. Wood will eventually break down, glass and most metals, but plastic? I know you have been trying to cut down on stuff. That's a lot of what we have these days... stuff. And when you die someone else has to make the decision of what to do with all that ... stuff. I also know you don't participate that much in these holiday seasons but I want you to just think about the gifts you give. Are they wanted? Are they recyclable?
And the gifts you receive... if you can't use them what will you do? Just leave them sit around, pile up? How about all of the wrapping and packing and ribbons... Pretty ribbons... How will the landfill handle all of that.
So try to find a wood or metal or even heavy cardboard substitute for that plastic container. You will feel better. Just a little thought will keep a lot of that permanent plastic out of the landfill. Your mother will appreciate it...
