I am currently reading a book that has a message that I needed to hear, again. The book is PROOF OF HEAVEN, by Dr. Eben Alexander. Dr. Alexander is a neurosurgeon who spent 7 days in a coma resulting from a rare case of bacterial meningitis. He came out of the coma changed and with a message that he felt he had to share with the world. There is a lot more to the book but the main message is: "You are loved and cherished, dearly, forever. You have nothing to fear." and interestingly enough, "There is nothing you can do wrong". He reminds us of who we really are and that God, while being more than we can imagine, is truly personal and loves all of creation including you and I. It is these reminders that I need the most. I seem to need the reminder that it is okay to be me at whatever level of consciousness I am at, today or ever. If you are in need of assurance, reminders of who you are, or even just have a great summer read I recommend this book. Dr. Alexander has a website and the book is very accessible. The kindle edition was very reasonable.

Dreams of Heaven...
In the movie, What Dreams May Come, heaven is shown as a bright, over saturated technicolor landscape of meadows, lush grass, beautiful flowers and green trees. Our oh so inadequate languages have developed words for heaven; Eden, paradise, nirvana, more. But no word can come close to the ultimate reality. But we might ask, if the spirit world is so great what are we all doing here? Believe or not we choose this sojourn on earth. We forget when we come here, forget who we really are and where we came from. But we are not lost. Built in to humans and our cultures is the longing and the drive to remember who we are, that we are a spirit having an earthly experience. We are also aware that no one is imprisoned on earth. Sooner or later we all go back to where we came from. We still make the choice to come here and have the experiences we have.
We can make our lives better by paying attention to those longings to remember our spiritual home. We just have to start letting go of the notion that this body and this life is all there is. All we need is the intention to find out more and the willingness to let go.

Perhaps...
Creating God in our own image, such as the old vengeful father type in the sky, is really quite an insult. And when you begin to think of God as the spirit of everything, you begin to think differently about deity and divinity. From Dr. David R. Hawkins book THE EYE OF THE I:
"That which is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent is not vulnerable to threat or emotional upset; thus, God is not prone to revenge, jealousy, hatred, violence, vanity, egotism, or the need for adulation or compliments. The beneficiary of worshiping is the worshiper. God is totally and absolutely complete and has no needs or desires. God is not unhappy or upset if you have never heard of him or don't believe in him..... God is not codependent or neurotic and does not suffer from paranoid psychosis with grandiosity."
I really like that part: "The beneficiary of worshiping is the worshiper." and Dr. Hawkins speaks of the beauty and glory of God in many other places in his work. It is true what has been said, that God is Love... and if there is Divinity in all of us, if we are all a part of God then we too are Love. As humans we can be quite petty. We can be prone to revenge, jealousy, hatred, violence, vanity and the rest. We don't have to be... Heaven is within, so perhaps we can reach within for that love that we are and find heaven at the same time... Perhaps...

"There are more things in heaven and earth......"
"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
Yes now I am quoting Shakespeare. HAMLET Act 1 Scene V to be exact.
The more I learn the more I remember. And other than wanting all my life to find out about God and things of a spiritual nature, is there a specific reason I am learning and remembering all of this? It is said that if you fully embrace your God self in this lifetime when you come back the next time you will return with your memory intact. I would like that. But it is also my intent to live a very long life this time around. There was a time when I insisted I did not want to come back again to this place of pain and sorrow, but I'm thinking I will most likely return to see through all that has begun in this lifetime. And to be able to do so with my memory of home and who I am as an eternal being, now that might be quite an experience. Yes, there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of..... Knowing some of them doesn't necessarily take away feelings of pain and separation that life on earth can produce but they certainly make a lot more sense.....

"....heaven will begin to be seen....."
“Life is structured so that its finest, most meaningful aspects are often hidden from outer exposure......
From earliest childhood, our senses respond to outward sensations........
But the true riches of life lie within. Through appreciation of the wisdom of the past, through prayer, and most of all through deep meditation, we can become one with the inner silence that is a part of God.
When that silence is reached, it begins to radiate throughout all of one’s activities. When a large number of individuals radiate this inner silence, heaven will begin to be seen on earth.”

A Step from Heaven....
It has been said that a great sculptor sees his creation in a block of marble and then just chips away that which it is not. What is left is his beautiful piece of art. Our world is like that and as great creators we can see the perfect world, our own vision of heaven and we can make it so. Don't just look at the cracks or imperfection in the marble, see your greatest creation and teach your children to do the same. We are creating our perfect vision.
"There is no place for hell within a world whose loveliness can yet be so intense and so inclusive it is but a step from there to Heaven. To your tired eyes I bring a vision of a different world, so new and clean and fresh you will forget the pain and sorrow that you saw before." A COURSE IN MIRACLES.
