... How You Made Them Feel...

Today while looking through some things I came across this quote attributed to Maya Angelou.  It is called Things I Have Learned and is well worth sharing again:
"On a positive note...

I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.
I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life."
I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.
I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.
I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone.
People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

You Can Have an Affect...

You are experiencing pain.  You are depressed.  You are feeling as though you are so stressed you could just scream.  These are all energies, negative energies that feed on themselves.  Sometimes a chemical can help, a pain pill, an antidepressant, a tranquilizer.   Sometimes it seems that these chemicals are the only things that help.  But the power of being positive can really make a big difference.   Also you can use use these techniques along with medication. 
You find yourself wallowing in a negative emotion.   Reach for a bit of joy.   Think about a child, a pet, an experience that has given you joy.   Read something that makes you smile.   You can see for yourself what this will do for yourself and your feelings.   When you enter a dark room and turn on a light... the darkness disappears.  When you laugh you cannot won’t feel depressed or anxious...  So look for the joy, look for a place of love, change your energy.  This is a way you can have an affect on the way you feel.
