Hear The Song of Spirit...

Across time and the universe
Hear the song of spirit
Your spirit
Calling
Calling
Calling you to your true being
Your true and honest self
Let go of past expression
Let go of karma
And listen to the spirit
Your spirit
Calling
Calling
Calling you to be your authentic self
Your spirit is calling you
To be the Divine you
The Angel you
The Human you
Listen to the spirit
Your spirit
Calling
Calling
Calling you

"Children of the Angels"...

From the time I got up this morning the line from Walela’s song ‘Circle of Light’ has been going through my mind.   Walela is a trio of aboriginal American women.    The song has some wonderful lines in it but the one that keeps running through my mind says: “We are children of the angels”.  “We are children of the angels Keepers of the Fire, We are children of the angels reaching for the light.”  Not long after I got up I played the song and some of the other songs on the album.  But here it is early evening and the line is still going through my mind.   Perhaps some of the other lines carry the message that I needed to hear.   “We are not strangers....I know we came here to love each other...Each one thinks he has the answer, Each believes that he can see the way, the only way.  Truth lies waiting, was always waiting, Like a love, a peaceful dove, Right there inside your soul.”  “We ARE children of the angels reaching for the light...”

Your song is not forever gone....

There is a song within your soul
That sings of God and Home
When you are born upon this earth you soon begin to lose your song.
Yet sometimes we catch glimpses, hear bits and pieces on the wind.
When we love someone we can hear it
When we love our pet and see it looking back at us with love in its eyes
When we see the beauty of a sunrise or sunset
Or hear the waves crashing upon the shore
Sometimes in the flash of a lightning storm
Or the paining hanging on the wall.
Fear not my beloved ones
Your song is not forever gone.
Is it there, in you, around you,
Waiting for you to recognize the God in your soul.
Then it plays for you again.

As the moon slips behind the trees....

As the moon slips down behind the trees I hear the wind whisper your name, Creator, Great Spirit, Allah, Yahweh, Infinite Spirit, Goddess, Mother-Father, The Force, All That Is, God, I hear you in the music I play.
I see you in the eyes of love and the eyes of the searching ones.  I look out over the beauty of my home and I see you. In the morning dew a spider web glistens in your light.
There was a time when I would have been afraid to say your name, it doesn’t matter which one.
There was a time when I would be afraid people would think less of me for talking of God.  But that has gone away.   I only wish others could feel the happiness I feel when I whisper your name, Creator, Great Spirit, Allah, Yahweh, Infinite Spirit, Goddess, Mother-Father, The Force, All That Is, God and oh so many more.   And Oh that they could feel the love when You whisper back.

“Risking our heart is why we are alive.....”

Songs fill my head and my heart with just about every emotion I have.   Sometimes they  match the emotion, sometimes they simply match the time and place.   Sometimes they match a memory and sometimes they are the memory.  “What’s it all about Alfie?” “Oh love that will not let me go”.   So many songs are about Love.  Looking for it, finding it, losing it.  “Oh love that will not let me go” is the title to an old  hymn.  My mother loved the church music.  I think I may have gotten that from her.   Most of my life has been about a search for God and a search for love.  And we have always been told that God is Love.  “Risking our heart is why we are alive” is a quote from a television show tonight.  A writer and a cop, falling in love, resisting love.   I would bet that if we were to find the source/the reason for all we do it would all come down to risking our heart, searching for love, searching for God.      Remember in your search to look into your heart.  The risk is probably that we just might find what we are looking for.

If I were to write a song for you God...

If I were to write a song for you God it would say how happy I am.
It would say I love you God.  God without, God within, I love you.
The journey has been long but here You are, always waiting,
always loving, always beckoning.  Loving you God is loving me, and loving all of life.   Perhaps that is the purpose for a human’s life.  If we can forget You, then remember You, and then find You, is that not enough purpose?  I searched for You in books, in churches, in meditation, and I found You within.  I found You in the little dog that sleeps by my side, in the birds of the air.  In my loved ones eyes I found You.
If I were to write a song for you God it would say how happy I am.

“And if God is just a song?”

In the late 1990s two books came out authored by Mary Doria Russell.  The first was called THE SPARROW and the second, a sequel, THE CHILDREN OF GOD.  The premise on these two novels was roughly this:  In exploration of the continents on earth the Jesuits were often among the first to follow the conquerors with the intention of converting the conquered people to Christianity.  What if this continued with space exploration?  Both stories are allegories about the cruelty of one being to another and the redemption of such acts.   In THE CHILDREN OF GOD on the discovered planet a child, Isaac, is born who is a music savant.  He believes his music is proof of God.  Often books have a few short sentences that are so beautiful and profound and contain so much insight:
“Go back down the mountain, my heart,” Suukmel advised serenely.  “Listen to Isaac’s music again.  Remember what you thought when you first heard it.  Know that if we are children of one God, we can make ourselves one family in time.”
“And if God is just a song?”  Ha’anala asked, alone and frightened.
Suukmel did not answer for awhile.  Finally she said, “Our task is the same.”

A Song for the Earth.....

I sing your praises sweet Gaia, sweet mother....
Your beauty takes my breath away
Your power astounds me
Sun sets on a horizon of deepening green
Mountains snowcapped turn to shadow
Trees provide life and shelter and oh so much more beauty
Deep blue waters
I join the wild ones, the swimming ones, the ones that run and the ones that fly
and sing of your beauty
I sing to you of my love and my gratitude
sweet Gaia, sweet mother

Of Spirit and Horse Farts

Daily now my understanding grows.  It is as this quote from A COURSE IN MIRACLES  “Like a song whose name is long forgotten, and the circumstances in which you heard completely unremembered. Not the whole song has stayed with you, but just a little wisp of melody, attached not to a person or a place, or anything particular. But you remember, from just this little part, how lovely was the song, how wonderful the setting where you heard it, and how you loved those who were there, and listened with you.”
And suddenly those lyrics of the song of spirit, all come flooding back and you start to hum and then sing the entire song.
That passage ends with this, “And, when you see it in each other, you ARE remembering for everyone.”
Yesterday I was sitting at the table outside, the sun was out part of the time, it was nice...  Occasionally a hawk would be circling above.   I was writing and remembering.   Then from across the barnyard one of the horses farted.   It brought a smile to my face and brought me back to life on planet earth.   The song of spirit was in my soul and I was listening to the song of earth.  Then she farted again....  An impressive punctuation mark, don’t you think?
