Are you on a Spiritual Path...

Living the Life that you Want...

It’s not always an easy thing to do but we can get a lot of guidance by just listening to our hunches.   Sometimes that nudge to make this choice over that choice is our angel or our Holy Spirit trying to tell us what is best for us.  And the more we watch for this and the more we experience it the easier it is to see and follow.   Our angels know what it is we want and need, sometimes more than we do.  So that is why it is important to refine your needs and desires.  The another important step to living the life that you want is gratitude.  Be grateful for everything.  Thank your angels for helping.  Thank God for what you want as though you already have it.  In review:  1.  Listen to your hunches... your first thought.  2.  Know what you want, and constantly refine your thoughts and desires.  3.  Be grateful for what you have and what you desire.  

Choose Awareness...

Choose Awareness, Love, Joy, Forgiveness, Compassion.  Without awareness you may have been chosen by negativity, anxiety, worry, guilt, shame and fear.  And what I mean by ‘you may have been chosen’ is that often we were influenced even as a small child by the negative emotions of our family, church, and others of influence close to us.   Without knowing it we have been living under that influence.  Choose awareness and start living...  truly living...

What Part of the Tree of Life Are You?

I have used for a long time the metaphor of a tree that represents 'all that is'.  All That Is... is God and we and all of Creation.    A tree may have roots, branches, twigs, limbs, leaves, flowers, fruit, some even have thorns and broken branches.  
I have seen some wonderful quotes from Albert Einstein.   There was a lot more to him than E=MC2.  He had a vast understanding of the universe.    " All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. "

What part of the tree of life are you?    A root?  A branch?  A thorn?  How about a flower?

A Job for You...

Do you watch the news, or perhaps, don’t watch the news anymore because you see all the pain, and violence, and terrible things happening, nasty weather, earthquakes.   OMG it’s just too much... the world is going to hell in a handbasket (whatever that means).  You are probably tired of me telling you that these are the birth pangs of a world we would really want to live in.  Well I have a job for you.   It has a couple of parts to it.  First of all your job is to stay positive.  Allow yourself to settle into a peaceful acceptance of what is and believe with all your heart that it is change for the better.  
And the second part of your job is to do something about it.   Now I totally understand we are not all Martin Luther King Junior, Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Jesus, any of the other known heroes.   But you have opinions, ideas.  I think a lot of people understand what is going on with politics.  What I want you to do is think about what you would do with a particular world/national/local/community/personal challenge.  Think about what could be done to improve or change that situation using love, fairness, honesty, unity as your basis for change.  Then think about all of the people you influence.  Your spouse, your friend, your sibling, your child, your grandchild.   Break the subject to them.  Tell them there are solutions to the worlds’ problems that don’t involve hate/violence/exploitation.  If you have thought of a solution tell them this is what you would do.   You may not have the courage or the ability to do it yourself.   Ask them to come up with their own ideas. You may be the one that sparks the fire within a child that comes up with the solution to hunger, energy, peace...   It doesn’t matter if it was your idea, if you were not the one to bring it about.  The earth holds your energy....  The world knows.....
A quote from Wilfred A. Peterson that I used in 1962 during a high school graduation speech.  “As you throw the weight of your influence on the side of the good, the true and the beautiful, your life will go on in others, bigger, finer, nobler, than you ever dared to be...” 

God is Life...

Now and then I come across something written by someone else that is so informative and so well done that I really want to share it.  In an old copy of ODE Magazine I came across an article by Neale Donald Walsh of CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD fame.  In this article Walsh was responding to the book THE GOD DELUSION by Richard Dawkins.   This is in part what Walsh had to say:..." What is true about life is that nothing stands outside of life. Nothing exists without life. We are the expression of life itself. So is everything around us... Indeed, everything in the observable universe is life, in some form. The existence of life is confirmed by life itself. Life is self-referencing, self-confirming, self-sustaining, and self-evident. Life is the evidence of the existence of life."  but then he suggests in the foregoing statement to substitute the word God for the word life..... amazing what it sounds like.

The tree of life.....

The tree is a powerful symbol.  The tree of life is a symbol in many religions and has many meanings.  For us the tree provides, shade, fruit, wood, the leaves absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, life.
Look at your Christmas tree, look at the trees in your yard, on your street.  Think about what your trees have done and what they represent to you.   "I think that I shall never see, a poem lovely as a tree."   TREES by Joyce Kilmer.

Lessons to Learn...

There are lessons to learn in this life and if we can learn them we learn them forever.   Learning to love  wasn't as difficult as learning to love myself.  It's easier for me to learn to listen than for me to learn to receive.   What does it mean to be able to love oneself and what does it mean to learn to receive?  I guess that is what I need to learn.  

Write the tale of your life.....

I seem to have a taste for books and movies that have one liners that speak to me.  Tonight I was watching a movie called THE OUTLANDER.  It is a cowboys and aliens movie except that this one was vikings and aliens.   However in the middle of the movie the female lead speaks to the male lead with this line:  "If you truly believe that you write the tale of your own life... then the end is up to you."  Whoa... where did that come from?  I paused the movie and wrote that one down.   In the old energy, while we had free will, we were still under the influence of karma.   That isn't true anymore.   We truly can write the tale of our own life..... And we can write the end of our own story.  Funny the things you can find in b movies with awful alien creatures...  creatures that seem to all look the same with big teeth and slimy everything else.    Write the tale of your life...  give it a happy ending.  

How is your creation today?

Author and teacher Don Miguel Ruiz calls humans artists and their lives are their creation.  Many do not choose to see their life as something they create themselves but when you think about it, who else does the creating.  We create our lives by our choices and by our thoughts, words and deeds.  And by looking at life this way we can stop being a victim and take responsibility for who and what we are.   Sometimes that means we have to take a hard look at ourselves and what we have created.   But we can also take responsibility for creating a beautiful life.   and we can share our creation with everyone.
